Tell us a little about The Orchard – what do you offer guests and what makes your space unique?

The Orchard at Fenny Castle is a deeply personal project, and what makes our space truly special is the story behind it. A labour of love created to share a peaceful, natural sanctuary with others, a place where people could reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy thoughtful design in a beautiful, wild setting. Set within acres of private orchard and woodland in rural Somerset, our retreat offers four unique, handcrafted spaces, all designed and built with care by our family and local artisans.

Over the years, we’ve planted hundreds of trees, restored the land as a wildlife haven, and built each structure ourselves, drawing on natural materials and sustainable practices. Every corner of the site carries our personal touch — from the curved walls of the Vilberie Cabin to the treetop bathtubs with sweeping views.

Where are you located, and what are some of the must-see local highlights or hidden gems nearby?

What’s your favourite spot at the property for guests to unwind and switch off?

One of the most magical places to unwind is at Pomeroy Treehouse in the elevated roof terrace, a true treetop retreat. Nestled among the branches, this private perch offers sweeping views over the Somerset hills, making it the perfect spot to pause, breathe, and reconnect with nature.

Start your morning with coffee as the sun rises through the trees, or sink into a blanket at dusk with a glass of wine, watching the sky turn gold. At night, the absence of city lights makes it a stunning place to stargaze in stillness. Whether you’re curled up with a book or simply soaking in the sounds of the wild, this peaceful hideaway is made for switching off completely.

Yes—we’re incredibly excited to share that we’ve just launched Camelot Cabin, our most luxurious retreat yet, here at The Orchard at Fenny Castle. Guests can look forward to everything from a six-person hot tub and sunken outdoor bath, a private gym and sauna, cinema room, and outdoor pizza oven—all set against sweeping Somerset views.
