This month, we’re escaping for a little R&R at The Leicester Arms, a boutique country inn in the beautiful village of Penshurst in Kent. Please can you give us a little overview of The Leicester Arms, what you offer and what makes you different?
The Leicester Arms is a historic country inn nestled in the picturesque village of Penshurst, offering warm hospitality, great food, and a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. We have 11 beautifully designed rooms for overnight stays, a cosy bar serving local ales hand crafted cocktails and fine wines, and a restaurant focused on seasonal, high-quality local ingredients. What makes us stand out is our attention to detail from the quality of our produce to the thoughtful touches in our rooms, including Bramley’s luxurious products, which enhance the guest experience.
Where are you located & what are some of the area highlights for guests?
We’re in Penshurst, a stunning Kent village steeped in history. The area is best known for Penshurst Place & Gardens, a magnificent stately home just a short walk from our doorstep. Guests also love exploring and walking along the River Medway, or visiting nearby Royal Tunbridge Wells for boutique shopping. Whether it’s countryside rambles, cultural experiences, or just unwinding with a pint by our fireside, there’s plenty to enjoy.
What is your favourite thing on the menu at the moment?
Right now, it has to be our Stone Bass with Cuttlefish & Ink Rice, finished with a Garlic Emulsion. It’s beautifully balanced, packed with flavour, and a real showcase of the quality ingredients we work with.
What is your favourite Bramley product at The Leicester Arms?
The Bramley Hand Wash & Lotion set is a real favourite among our guests and team alike. It’s fresh, uplifting, and a small detail that makes a big difference in creating a luxurious stay both in our guest rooms and restrooms.
