Out and About with Bramley: The Beckford Group

Date Posted

Over ten years ago, the Bramley range was created for the bathrooms at our first Beckford Group pub to enhance guests' stays and encapsulate our love for the beautiful countryside that surrounds us.

Adding only natural ingredients to our products that are kind to both our skin and nature, Bramley has since branched out, retailing in independent shops and some of the most desirable and unique pubs, hotels, and restaurants throughout the UK.

Our products can be found in beautiful places, including locations of outstanding natural and physical beauty. This new blog series, 'Out and About with Bramley,' aims to transport you to these locations, inspire you to explore, learn more about our partners, the relationship with Bramley and why you must visit!

The first blog in this series features the place it all began, The Beckford Group.

When Bramley founder Chloë Luxton moved to the Wiltshire countryside with her husband Charlie, Bramley was just an idea. Created initially just for the Beckford Arms that Charlie ran. The couple wanted something to leave a lasting memory on their guest's stays, and beautifully smelling, natural products ticked all the boxes.

Bramley was a hit with residents, offering them something luxurious and unique. Fast forward a few years, and it soon became apparent that these products were not only loved for overnight stays; those who had the pleasure of trying them wanted these products in their homes for everyday use, and so Bramley as a brand was born.

The Beckford Group soon expanded, and since then, Charlie and business partners Dan and Matt have added a further three stylish yet welcoming inns to their group, each in the South West, offering good food, local ales and beautiful bedrooms, all at great value. Full of character, the inns each individually tell their own unique stories…

The Beckford Arms

Situated in the middle of William Beckford's former estate in Wiltshire, The Beckford Arms was the first of the group's hearty inns. Set in a vast area of fields and open space, the pub has a sun-drenched terrace perfect for all seasons and complete with a wood-fired pizza oven plus multiple rooms for hosting intimate gatherings, parties and get-togethers. The Beckford Arms also boasts eight charming bedrooms (complete with Bramley!) and three luxurious lodges; just a stone's throw away from the pub.

The Talbot Inn

Twenty minutes outside of Bath, and a stone’s throw from the arty town of Frome you'll find The Talbot Inn nestled into the ancient village of Mells (from the Roman word for honey). A long-established coaching inn with a cobbled courtyard perfect for an evening sundowner, the pub offers a well-stocked bar, unpretentious pub food and some cosy rooms for when you fancy a night away.

The Bath Arms

The newest inn to join the Beckford family, The Bath Arms, is situated on the Longleat Estate, just a few minutes' walk from the famous Safari Park. This well-loved local pub offers it all, perfect for dinner after a day out with the family, a long lunch in the garden, or a catch-up with friends over a drink in the oak stool-lined bar. For those travelling further afield there are 16 stylish bedrooms housed within the pub and stable block.

The Lord Poulett Arms

Closest to the beach (but not that close!) of all the pubs, The Lord Poulett can be found in the quaint hamstone village of Hinton Saint George, about thirty-five minutes from Lyme Regis. Stocked well with Somerset ciders, hearty food and some stunning bedrooms, the stylish thatched pub offers charm and character and is ready to welcome you with open arms.

The last of the group's establishments, so far, is the Beckford Bottle Shop located in one of the most beautiful and historic parts of Bath. This is a wine merchant but also a bistro where you can enjoy a glass or two amid a day of shopping, alongside delicious small plates. See the recent Jay Rayner review here.

The Beckford Group and Bramley

As a diverse group of businesses based in the South West, each of our locations can be found to feature Bramley across all touchpoints, including restaurants, toilets, bedrooms, bathrooms and more.

A collection of our core range is also retailed across all of the Beckford sites, so if you want to take a little bit of luxury home after a weekend away, then you can explore the rest of our range or browse further on our website.

What's to come for The Beckford Group?

Across all of Beckford's businesses, there is always room for growth. We are constantly on the lookout for new ideas, key trends and opportunities whilst always striving to offer our customers the very best of the best at all times.

Keep your eye out for exciting new developments in the next few months…
