It’s Random Acts of Kindness Week!

Now more than ever, everyone could use more kindness in their lives especially as even the smallest thoughtful act can make someone’s day. That’s why this week we urge you to share the love with a few small gestures. By making an active effort to spread positivity and tuning in to the kindness happening around us, the day just might seem a little bit brighter! If you need some inspiration, here are some ideas that might just make all the difference…

Kind gestures to practice towards others:

Send somebody a good old-fashioned handwritten note

There’s something about a handwritten letter or card that just feels more meaningful than a text or email. It’s personal and something that you can keep forever! Next time you want to share an appreciation for someone, do it the old school way, get out your pen and paper and start writing.

Reply to a post you enjoy

We all get in the habit of breezing past content on social media, though it’s actually worth the effort of making the Internet a positive and constructive place. Even if it’s just a simple “thank you” or a piece of good feedback, the person behind the post will appreciate your time and effort. Take an extra moment to show you are grateful for the inspiration, information and/or humour they provide in your life. If you get value out of something, let it be known!

Kind gestures to practice towards yourself:

Tidy your personal space

A great way to show yourself kindness is by cleaning or tidying your personal space!By tidying up, you show respect for your personal space and help yourself feel more organised and less stressed.

Learn a new skill

No better time than the present (especially with lockdown boredom setting in)  learn something new that you’ve wanted to try but haven’t. Whether it’s baking, exercise-related, or anything in between, there are countless opportunities to better yourself. You never know what could become your new favourite hobby.

Drink more water

When you’re healthy and energetic, it is much easier to be kind. If you didn’t already know, you’re 60% water. So for your body to function at its maximum potential, you need to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Taking care of your body should be a top priority. Water helps your muscles, mind and everything else that makes you happy and healthy.

Kind gestures to practice towards the environment:

Shop local

Shopping locally not only greatly impacts local farmers and business, but it’s also better for the environment as it translates to fewer emissions. This seemingly simple act of kindness helps to keep local business owners succeed and farmers prosperous as well as the air around us clean.

Offset your carbon footprint

Using hot water, cooking our food, driving to work, and online shopping all emit carbon emissions and sometimes these actions cannot be avoided. But, we can ensure that those actions are carbon neutral by recapturing those emissions by planting trees, maintaining rainforests, re-fertilising the oceans or investing in carbon capture technology. All of these methods are carbon negative – they take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.

You can now offset the carbon footprint of your Bramley purchase with Greenr. Simply tick the option to add £1 to your order and Greenr will offset the emissions of your shop via one of their reforestation, borehole or fuel-efficient stove projects.

However you choose to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week we hope that it encourages everyone to explore the good and make kindness the norm.

 Love

The Bramley Team x
